Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This policy describes how Lucidify (“we”, “the product”) handles information. Lucidify is a Chrome extension operated by an independent solo developer.

Summary

  • Audio is processed locally in your browser—not on our servers.
  • We do not upload your streaming audio or video content to our servers.
  • License activation talks to Polar’s Customer Portal License API using your license key, organization ID, and a device instance ID—no payment card data passes through the extension. No API secret is embedded.

Chrome extension — local data

The extension stores preferences on your device using Chrome’s local storage, including:

  • ON/OFF state, EQ settings, presets, and language preference
  • Trial start date and license status (license key is stored locally after activation)
  • Custom EQ slot names and saved values

This data stays on your computer unless you uninstall the extension or clear extension data. We do not operate a Lucidify account server in v1.

Audio processing

When enabled, Lucidify connects to the page’s HTML <video> element and routes audio through a client-side DSP chain (filters, EQ, compressor). Processing happens entirely in your browser. We do not record, store, or transmit audio to third parties except as required by your browser’s normal operation on the sites you visit.

Polar (licensing & payments)

Purchases are completed on Polar checkout pages (opened from inside the extension). To activate and validate a license, the extension’s background service worker sends to Polar’s Customer Portal endpoints:

  • Your license key (that you enter)
  • A randomly generated instance ID for this browser install (used as the activation label)
  • Organization ID required by the Customer Portal API

Requests go to https://api.polar.sh/v1/customer-portal/license-keys (activate, validate, and deactivate). Polar’s privacy policy applies to payment and license records they hold. We do not embed API secrets in the extension.

Website waitlist (discontinued)

We previously collected email addresses via a waitlist form on this website for product launch notifications. That form has been discontinued. If you previously signed up and would like your email removed, contact lucidify.app@gmail.com.

Third-party sites

Lucidify runs on websites you choose to visit (e.g. YouTube). Those sites have their own privacy policies. We are not affiliated with Google, Netflix, or other streaming platforms.

Children

Lucidify is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
